Much like lemon and tea bags, vinegar too can be pretty useful around the house. Here are 10 things you probably didn’t know you could do with this household staple.
1. Clean Your Window
Pour some vinegar into a spray bottle and dilute it with water. You’ll get an instant window cleaner that’s effective and cost-friendly too.
2. Freshen Up Your Bathroom
Another way to naturally freshen up your bathroom is to use some vinegar. Dilute some vinegar (to your liking) with water and spray it on the walls of your bathroom.
3. Clean The Inside of Your Microwave
Pour equal parts of vinegar and water in a bowl for a steam cleaning remedy. Microwave the bowl for about 30 seconds and let it cool down a litle before you start wiping it.
4. Grime Cleaner
Mix equal parts hot water and vinegar to create a grime cleaner for wooden floors and tiles. Get between those tiles with a toothbrush for sparkling floors.
5. Clean Your Sink
You know that science experiment we did in school with vinegar and baking soda? Well, that experiment itself could help clean and freshen up your sink!
Fill your sink up to half with water before adding in baking half a cup of baking soda and half a cup of vinegar. Your sink will be spotless and clean in an instant.
6. Remove Fingerprints on Your Glasses
We all know how pesky fingerprints on glass can be. The next time you’re trying to remove them, spritz some of that vinegar and water mixture you made for your windows. It works wonders!
7. Help Fresh Flowers Last Longer
A mixture of vinegar and sugar helps to enhance the longevity of freshly cut flowers because vinegar helps to prevent bacteria from forming on the cross section of the flower and sugar provides food to your plant.
8. Remove Odours from Your Dustbin
Soak a piece of bread with some vinegar and leave it overnight to absorb all the bad smells. Afterwards, clean your dustbin as per usual.
9. Remove Grime on Your Pots and Pans
If grime and grease cutting detergent isn’t doing it for your pots and pans, consider using some water and vinegar.
Add equal parts water and vinegar to a pot or pan that you’re trying to clean. Next, boil the mixture for 10-15 minutes and check if it’s removing stubborn grease marks.
10. Freshen Up Your Couch
Trust us, if we could toss our couches into the washing machine for a good washing, we would. Sadly, we can’t but good thing there’s vinegar and water that can help freshen up your couch.
