If you’re an iPhone user, you’d know how frustrating it can be with iCloud constantly reminds you of how much space you’re lacking. Here are 10 ways to save space on your phone:
Every app downloaded takes up a different amount of space in your phone. Gaming apps can take up a lot of space in your phone. Photo, Videos and Music can also take up a hefty amount.
If you know what’s taking so much space, you can start deleting from there.
An easy and immediate way to free up some space is to delete temporary files and clear your cache.
Do go through your camera roll and delete some photos that you don’t want to keep. You can also save space by switching off the Keep Normal Photo under HDR (High Dynamic Range) at Setting > Photos & Cameras. Now only HDR photos will be saved.
If you still want to hold on to these photos, you can upload them to Google Photos or Drive. There is more storage space than iCloud and it’s free of charge. Once you’ve uploaded them, you can now delete the bulk of the photos on your camera roll.
If you like sending pictures, audio files and other large files to your friends, it is likely that your messaging history is taking up a large portion of your phone storage. In Settings>Messages, you have the option to keep Messages forever, 1 year or 30 days. Regularly delete your texts on messaging apps such as Whatsapp, Viber and Telegram as well.
Apps like Twitter and Facebook take up a lot of space. These social media platforms can be accessed through Safari and you’re not losing out! By flushing these apps away, it will free up space on your phone and save your battery life.
Sometimes apps can collect cache. Like dust, there aren’t holding any important information. Delete the app and reinstall it again to free up a little space.
Force restarting your phone will automatically make the system wipe clean of caches and files. Occasionally force restart by press and holding the Sleep/Wake and Home Buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears. Plus point: this helps your iPhone run a little faster too.
Electronic Books are laden with audio, video and photos to increase the interactivity factor. This can waste gigabytes of your precious space. To remove books you no longer need, go to iBooks > Select some books > Delete.
If you love listening to music or watching shows while on the public transport, perhaps you might want to consider getting an external memory stick.
