1. A sweater with a glam skirt
It’s called “sweater weather” for a reason! Bring that cosy feeling with you wherever you go with a cuddly sweater. If you’re headed out for a dinner date, shimmy into a glam skirt in a complimentary colour, and push up the sweater sleeves to avoid drowning in the fabric.
2. A shrunken bomber jacket
While we’re not facing the sub-zero temperatures that other countries might be enjoying, it’s still uncharacteristically cool for Singapore. So while an oversized bomber jacket might look a little bit much, a cropped jacket will work better. The best news? You can always slip it over your shoulders should you feel a little warmer.
3. A denim jacket with a sleeveless knit
The sleeveless knit or t-shirt keeps you ventilated when you’re indoors, but the denim jacket will be your best pal when facing down the blustery weather outside.
4. A chic (and colour co-ordinated) scarf
Wrap up in a simple neck scarf that matches the rest of your outfit. Even better, go one step further and sync your entire outfit to one colour scheme. And don’t play it safe either—try bolder tones such as deep red or cobalt blue.
5. Wear your coat as a dress
Rather than use your outerwear as a complimentary piece, let it be the main event! The trick is to find an unlined coat, so you can still stay comfortable. Then accessorize with statement sunglasses and a cool bag for finishing touches.
6. When all else fails, a coloured hoodie saves the day
Sometimes, the best thing to wear is the most comfortable thing you can schlep on. In this case, make it a brightly coloured hoodie. Combat the grey skies with a citrus-coloured hooded sweater and a pair of trusty blue denims.
Pro tip: skip all the fuss of doing your hair and hide your tresses in the hood. It’s going to get messy in the wind anyway!
