Facial oils, both fragrant and unscented, are often derived from plants with the exception of mineral oil which is synthetic. Facial oils are valued for its healing and moisturising properties – with some of them being similar to the sebum which is produced in our skin, making it ideal for those who experience skin sensitivity.

The most common facial oils are made of jojoba, avocado, argan, maracuja, just to name a few. They can be used in place of a moisturiser but the beauty is in its versatility. Facial oils can be used anywhere on the body – face, legs, hair, cuticles, everything. Plus, they can also function as an additional emollient; add them in your face cream if they’re not hydrating enough in colder climates, or in your foundation for days when you need just a tinge of coverage.
