Problem #1: Pain

Waxing and shaving can be painful at the best of times. That’s why depilatory creams are worth a go if you have sensitive skin.

“Apply the depilatory cream until it melts the hair away and then wash it off,” advises personal care buying manager, Susie Bearzi. Use moisturiser or oil afterwards.

Problem #2: Rash And Redness

Hot wax is the single best option to remove hair along the bikini line. But to avoid developing a rash, always look for soothing ingredients such as aloe.

“For a clean results, apply wax in the direction of hair growth and keep skin taut,” says Susie.

For underarms, you can’t go past a razor with moisture strips that guard against irritation with each stroke. Achieve the closest result by shaving side to side and then up and down.

Problem #3: Ingrown Hairs

“Exfoliate before removing hair as it brings hair under the skin to the surface,” Susie recommends. And if your skin looks red, apply a spot treatment then a cold pack to reduce inflammation, swelling and redness.

Problem #5: Facial Fuzz

If you’re concerned about rogue fluff on your face, try a lightening product designed for use around delicate lip, chin and eyebrow areas to minimise any visible irritation.

“I wouldn’t use a depilatory cream on your face as there are other products that are better suited, such as bleaches,” Susie explains.
