It’s been a year of weddings. From the royal weddings of Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie, to celebrities like Deepika Padukone and Grace Chan (and, of course, Priyanka Chopra’s upcoming nuptials), there were so many couples who sealed the deal in 2018.
However, as it’s also been a “crazy rich” kind of year, some celebrities have chosen to have not just one, but multiple wedding ceremonies. Earlier this year in February, Malaysian heiress Chryseis Tan, the 30-year-old daughter of Malaysian tycoon Vincent Tan of Berjaya Group, and her husband Faliq Nasimuddin, said “I do” in front of 1,300 guests at their first wedding.

The couple opted to have their nuptials at the Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto, in an outdoor setting, at the heart of a Japanese garden.
With a dress like that, a dramatic entrance down a flight of stairs is only necessary.
It was truly a beautiful ceremony, filled with flowers and giant lalang bouquets.

Chryseis with her mother, Puan Sri Esther Tan, whom she says is her mentor. She told Malaysian Tatler, “My mother is able to know what people will like in the future, and she’s right most of the time. For example, in the early days of Berjaya’s business, she was the one who identified that despite the tropical weather, people will still enjoy alfresco dining, and advocated that. Together with my dad—who has lots of common sense and a strong affinity for numbers, they influenced me to become who I am today.”

Flowers and candles set a romantic atmosphere.
