Who doesn’t love napping babies? They look so peaceful and sweet.
Los Angeles photographer Laura Izumikawa decided to step up the saccharine levels of cuteness by dressing up her 4-month-old daughter, Joey Marie Choi, in snazzy outfits while she naps and the results were priceless.
Her Instagram follower count has since grown to over 200,000 and she’s even been featured on various online outlets for her creative parenting ways.
Laura told the media that “because Joey slept so deeply, I thought it’d be fun adding little props on her just to send some hilarious pictures to our parents. It was a way to memorialize her growth and little milestones.”
Well, it’s certainly paid off. Read on to see a collection of her best outfits on Joey here:
Baby Joey has jumped on the ‘Stranger Things’ bandwagon with this outfit as the character, Eleven, from Netflix’s now cult TV show.

How she got that wig on without Joey waking up we’ll never know but Laura has this to say about the dressing up process, “a couple times she’s woken up while I’m dressing her up, but she’ll just look at me a little dazed and then fall right back to sleep.”

We think Queen Bey would definitely approve of this classy outfit. It’s so well done that she may even put a ring on it, don’t you think?

It helps that Laura has an excellent sense of humour (just check out her adorably punny captions that accompany the photos.)

Baby Joey may be too young to be able to eat raw fish, but maybe when she’s older she will appreciate her family’s love of Japanese food.

In the beginning, Laura was apprehensive of all the online attention she was receiving over Joey’s dress up photos, but luckily for us the mum-of-one has now learned to embrace the publicity.

“Initially when I started getting a ton of online attention, there was a bit of a mother-bear type of panic, and I thought about stopping,” says Laura.

She adds that she then started receiving messages from countless people, “who said that the photos and videos were the highlight of their day and for some, a thing they enjoy to watch with their kids.”

Laura says the inspiration behind this photo was all the hype about Pokemon Go. “I’m still not exactly sure what the game is about but I hear it makes people “accidentally exercise” haha.”

According to her Instagram, Laura has a test to make sure Joey is deep asleep before she begins dressing her up. The test is called “the arm flinch”, and consists of Laura lifting up Joey’s little arm and dropping it to check that she won’t wake up.

Jon Snow may know nothing on HBO’S ‘Game of Thrones’ but Joey’s in the same boat too. She won’t know about the magic of dress up and her mum’s nap time antics until she’s much older.

“I really hope she’ll see the photos and videos in the future and have a good laugh. Hopefully she’ll see how loved she was,” Laura muses.

But most of all, Laura hopes her pictures will inspire legions of parents to have fun with their kids. “I hope that these photos and videos will make people smile and also remind parents to have fun with their kids and not get too caught up in the seriousness of parenting.”

As for baby Joey, she hasn’t let Insta-fame get to her head. Mama Laura says “a couple times she’s woken up while I’m dressing her up, but she’ll just look at me a little dazed and then fall right back to sleep.”
