Ever wondered why so many celebrities look amazing? Turns out it has a lot to do with what they eat. Their seemingly endless energy, glowing skin, and healthy bodies are largely thanks to their diets. And now we’ve got the secrets to the healthy eating tricks your favourite stars swear by:
1. Jennifer Lawrence
Before any red carpet appearance, Jennifer Lawrence drinks chamomile or dandelion tea to steady her nerves. Lawrence’s trainer Dalton Wong says, “Chamomile tea helps to calm the body and get rid of stress that could build up before an event, leading to bloating.”
2. Christie Brinkley
The legendary model always starts her day with a glass of hot water and the juice of a whole lemon, also adding some manuka honey and cayenne pepper. “It’s something I picked up on my Instagram,” she confessed.
3. Zoe Saldana
The actress, her husband, and three little ones stick to a gluten-free diet at least 80 percent of the time but they eat carbs sometimes and just substitute gluten-free ingredients like making dough for pizza from cauliflower or quinoa.
4. Natalie Portman
The mother of two and acclaimed actress may be vegan, but that doesn’t mean she eats like a bird. “I consume my own weight in hummus every day,” she told Vogue in 2010. “I cook a lot, and I even do vegan baking.”
5. Jenna Dewan-Tatum
The actress says she relies on a mix of protein and veggies to keep her full and energised. Her breakfast staple? Green smoothies, which include cod liver oil and black sesame seeds. “My skin, my hair, my energy — everything’s better,” she said.
The singer superstar starts the day off with four boiled eggs, one slice of toast (sans crust), and berries (pineapples, mango, and papaya are all welcome), according to her personal chef, Debbie Solomon.
7. Jennifer Garner
The Garner-Affleck household is a big fan of their backyard garden and grow most of what they eat. “We talk about our food. We grow food,” Garner says. “We talk about what goes into it and how hard it is. They plant it, they water it. We take pictures next to it.”
8. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
The expectant mom says that she’s a big foodie. “I love food, so I try not to give myself any restrictions.” What’s on her menu? Salads, fish, chicken, or vegan dishes. She continued, “I’ve recently cut out a lot of red meat, not for any reason, I just didn’t crave it anymore.”
9. Emma Watson
“Beauty and the Beast” star Emma Watson has a secret talent: making Mexican dishes. “I make a really amazing egg tortilla in the morning. It’s my special thing,” Emma says.
10. Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy Teigen is obsessed with food but her daily eating plan is much simpler: “We eat the same breakfast every day. We are like robots,” she said. “I always do two eggs over easy with turkey bacon — we enjoy the taste of it more than pork — and avocado.”
11. Jennifer Lopez
J.Lo says she smells her way to slim and who wouldn’t take advice from Jennifer Lopez? The 48-year-old stunner is rumored to take whiffs of grapefruit oil to stay thin. She believes it activates her nerves to break down fats, plus it reduces cravings.
12. Kendall Jenner
When Kendall Jenner recently made over her living room, she had weight loss on her mind. “Baker-Miller Pink is the only color scientifically proven to calm you AND suppress your appetite. I was like, ‘I NEED this color in my house!'” she wrote on her blog.
13. Jennifer Hudson
Jennifer Hudson famously lost about half her body weight, and she’s kept the pounds off! She keeps things in check by avoiding food at certain times of the day, like late at night or early in the morning. “If it’s early in the morning, [I tell myself], ‘OK, I would still be asleep right now, So I’m not going to eat,'” she reasons.
14. Carrie Underwood
Food journals like MyFitnessPal are a great way to keep track of everything you’ve eaten in a day. Carrie Underwood swears by the app, saying, “[It] helps me make better choices and pay attention to what I’m eating.”
15. Miranda Kerr
Former Victoria’s Secret angel, Miranda Kerr, says coconut oil is your friend. Her tip is to consume a spoonful of refined coconut oil first thing in the morning. The brunette beauty says that by having it each morning, she’s able to beat the daily bloat.
