Ratios For Substituting Fresh Herbs With Dried Herbs

If you do not have fresh herbs on hand for some recipes, you can use these equivalent substitutes of dried herbs

Dill Herbs

IN GENERAL
3 portions of fresh herb = 1 portion of dried herb

BASIL
5 leaves or 2 tsps finely chopped fresh basil = 1 tsp dried basil

CHIVES
1 tbsp finely chopped chives = 1 tsp freeze dryer chives

DILL
3 tsps fresh dill = 1 tsp dried dill

OREGANO
1 tbsp fresh oregano = 1 tsp dried oregano

PARSLEY
3 sprigs or 2 tsps finely chopped fresh parsley = 1 tsp dried parsley

ROSEMARY
1 medium sprig or 1 tbsp fresh rosemary = 1 tsp dried rosemary

SAGE
7 leaves or 2 tsps minced fresh sage = 1 tsp dried sage

THYME
6 sprigs or 1 tbsp fresh thyme = 3/4 tsp ground thyme
