1. Experience Is A Plus
According to an ex SQ air stewardess, having prior experience in the aviation industry is a plus. So, if you do have some experience, be sure to talk about it during the interview.
2. Don't Wear Too Much Makeup
Yes, SQ girls wear a lot of makeup when they’re on the flight but the key to passing the skin assessment is to avoid wearing too much makeup.
If you wear too much makeup, they might check more thoroughly.
3. Be Nice
Yes, it’s as simple as that.
They look for people with pleasant personalities because passengers obviously don’t want a snarky or mean person serving them on board.
4. Stay Humble
While you don’t have to second-guess yourself everytime you answer their questions, make sure to stay humble.
It works the same way as a normal job interview — no one likes to hire a braggart.
5. Show That You're A Team Player
Being a flight attendant is about being a team player — that’s why they’re so coordinated during flights.
So, during the interview, show that you can be a team player. If you’ve been to other job interviews before, you shouldn’t be stumped by this because you can always expect the question, “Are you a good team player?”
6. Don't Be Rude
You’ll know at the end of each round if you made it to the next. They won’t provide you the reason why you didn’t pass, so don’t badget them for one either.
You’ll only make a bad impression and it might affect your chances of getting through the next time.
7. Wear Low Heels
You don’t need to wear sky-high stilettos for the interview — they’ll ask you to remove them anyway to do the height test. It’s best to wear flats or low heels to the interview.
8. Speak Well
The key is to enunciate your words clearly and speak good English.
9. Always Smile
Apart from a pleasant personality, they also look for someone who constantly smiles as she talks.
10. Maintain Your Composure
They seem to like confident people and those who can maintain their composure at all times.
This is important because it’s not uncommon to meet unpleasant passengers while onboard, so prove that you’re able to control your feels during the interview.
