Who he is: This 19-year old plays the lead in the reboot of the hugely popular Taiwanese drama (viewers still reportedly watch the 2001 series and this is Netflix’s attempt at cashing in on that market). Wang, originally from Chengdu, only began acting last year, when he starred in a Chinese variety show. Smouldering eyes and his bad-boy appeal make him one to watch.
Who she plays: As Teng Tang Jing in Meteor Garden 2018 on Netflix. Episodes available now.
Who she is: The 20-year-old Chinese model and burgeoning actress reminds us of Gemma Ward, and is a favourite with Chinese fashion magazines. She’s only been acting for a couple of years, but has bagged best actress awards at the Xining First International Film Festival and the Chinese Young Generation Film Forum. Her character in Meteor Garden 2018 is a rich b*tch heiress but it looks like she’s got a geeky side in real life — she recently posted photos of her playing a computer game, a plate of fried chicken at her side.
Who he plays: Zach Dempsey in 13 Reasons Why on Netflix. Season 2 is available now.
Who he is: This 28 year-old hunk was born in Singapore to a British-Dutch father and a Chinese-Malaysian mother. You should take notice because he’s set to star in next year’s big screen adaptation of DC Comics’ Shazam!.
You’ll already have glimpsed him in series like Teen Wolf to Riverdale. But the up and coming heart throb with a toned body and charming smile really bust out onto the scene in 2017, in 13 Reasons. Season 2 is available now, and we’ll definitely be seeing more of him when Season 3 is uploaded in 2019.

The 28-year-old starred as an empress dowager in Untouchable Lovers (2018) earlier this year. She’s currently starring as the consort Wei Yingluo in Story of Yanxi Palace, where she works her way into the Forbidden City to find out the truth about her older sister’s death. Who he is: He’s a former model who has a tough role in this new series — he plays a doctor who suffers from autism and savant syndrome. The 24-year-old (he turns 25 on September 7) from Tokyo is not exactly a stranger to the scene. He starred in Death Note (2015) and Water Polo Yankees (2014), notable because his abs were so on show.
Who she plays: Colleen Wing in Marvel’s Iron Fist on Netflix. Season 2 premiers on September 7.
Who she is: She starred as Nymeria Sand in Game of Thrones, and this London-based beauty — her mum is Singaporean of Chinese descent, while her father is British of Zambian descent — can pack a real punch. The 26-year-old is adept in picking up stunts, and she learnt martial arts and worked with the katana for her Iron Fist role.

He’s clearly slated for big things — last year (2017), he clinched the CF Male Star Award at the MTN Broadcast Advertising Festival. Her performance in Ghoul, the horror-genre miniseries from the production house behind Paranormal Activity (2009), is as bone-chilling as she is beautiful.
