Ever heard Notorious B.I.G’s song, “Mo Money, Mo Problems”? There really is some truth to that.
According to Jeff, successful people see money not as a privilege or a personal reward but rather, as a responsibility.
They see their influence with money as a responsibility and an ability to help others.
This point focuses more on mental happiness and mindfulness.
While it might be difficult not to feel jealous about the success and happiness of others, the truth is, feeling jealous doesn’t help improve you as a person and doesn’t benefit you in any way.
Unless you’re able to some how harness this jealousy and turn it into motivation for yourself, jealousy can easily be a tool to undermine your success and happiness.
So, bid that jealousy bug goodbye and focus on the person that truly matters, yourself. Work on improving yourself and always be a work in progress.
Instead of complaining to their bosses about the lack of work/life balance they’re having, successful people know the value of personal time and don’t allow work to get in the way of that.
As Jeff puts it, “They find ways to include interests and passions in their daily business lives. If you can’t, you’re not living — you’re just working.”
Being empathetic isn’t about being a push over. It’s about seeing the flaws and shortcomings of other people but understanding that they’re just human, like you.
When you’re an empathetic person, you’ll be able to see a person for who they are (human, flaws and all!) and figure out if it’s worth expressing anger and unhappiness towards them.
Here’s the thing about successful people, they tend to have dreams and visions of where they want to be in life and work relentlessly to meet that goal.
According to Dr Robert Cloninger, who contributed to the post, “To succeed, you want to be able to regulate your impulses while also having the imagination to see what the future would be like if you tried something new.”
