Pork and Vegetable Dumplings

Whip up your own homemade full flavoured pork & vegetable dumplings using this easy recipe.

300 g spinach dumpling skins

300 g tomato or beetroot dumpling skins

300 g standard or carrot dumpling skins


For Filling:

200 g pork

1 clove garlic, skinned and grinded

Fresh ginger, thumb-sized, finely grinded

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp Chinese rice wine or unsweetened sherry

1 tbsp freshly grounded white pepper, to taste

2 tbsps sesame oil

½ stalk scallion, finely chopped

100 g cabbage, finely sliced

Bamboo shoot slices (optional)

For Dip Sauce:

1 tbsp white vinegar

1 tsp white sugar

1 tsp sesame oil

5 stalks coriander, finely shredded

1 red pepper, finely shredded


1Boil a big pot of water with salt.

2Mix the ingredients for each filling together and stir evenly.

3Place the dumpling skins on a flat surface.

4Place a teaspoon of filling onto the centre of each dumpling skin.

5Moisturise the edge of the dumpling skins with water (or egg white).

6With the filling in the centre, fold both edges of the dumpling skins together into a pyramid shape.

7Cook the dumplings in batches. Stir the pot occasionally to prevent the dumplings from sticking to the bottom of the pot.

8Serve the dumplings on a large plate with the dip sauce.
