To reduce the nasty smell in your toilet, place a small bowl of baking soda in your bathroom to absorb the smell. Replace the baking soda in the bowl every month to make sure it stays fresh.

You can also create a natural odour repellent by mixing two cups of water, a tablespoon of white vinegar and a teaspoon of baking soda with 10 drops of an essential oil. Put the mixture in a spray bottle and spray as often as you like.

Got a clogged toilet? Unblock it by making a toilet bomb. Simply mix half a cup of baking soda with half a cup of cornstarch and lemon juice in a zip-lock bag. Once fully mixed, add two to three tablespoons of water to the mixture and knead.

Repeat this step until the baking soda mixture feels like a piece of dough. Add 15 drops of your favourite essential oil into the dough mixture and knead again. Store the mixture in ice trays and leave to dry for a few days. Once dry, throw one of the “bombs” into your toilet bowl. Let it fizz for a while before you flush.
