What’s CNY without roast meats? Indulge in some mouthwatering Hong Kong roast dishes with these special takeaway sets from roast meat specialist Kam’s Roast. The Kam’s Roast Prosperity Trio ($108, serves four to six persons) contains Kam’s Roast’s whole signature roast duck, and regular portions of juicy iberico char siew and crispy roast pork. Smoky and tender, they are best enjoyed with a bed of piping hot white rice.

Chef Damian D’Silva of Folklore is presenting heritage Peranakan festive fare handed down from his maternal Peranakan grandmother this CNY. Have a popiah party with the splendid DIY Popiah Set ($321, serves 20 persons) with homemade popiah crepe skin, a delicious robust filling of shredded turnip and bamboo shoots cooked in prawn and pork stock, and accompaniments such as prawns, crabmeat, shredded omelette, chilli sauce, and fried garlic.
Add on a refreshing Peranakan Prawn Salad ($22), a refreshing starter with plump prawns on a bed of lettuce leaves topped with a feisty chilli sauce, a satisfyingly fiery Peranakan Mee Siam ($18) and Chef’s selection Kueh Platter (think: wobbly kueh kosui, ang ku kueh and more) for a resplendent feast.

Rejoice in the arrival of spring with scrumptious takeaway delights from well-known Cantonese restaurant Peach Blossoms with their Lunar New Year Home Reunion Set ($588, serves 10 persons). Savour auspicious dishes such as the Prosperity Salmon Yu Sheng with Nashi Pear, which pairs the sweetness of pear with fresh salmon, Blossoming Abalone Treasure Pot, an all-time favourite comprising ingredients like 10-head whole abalone, scallop and dried oyster and Fragrant Rice with Assorted Preserved Meat wrapped in Lotus Leaf. The dessert of Red Bean Nian Gao with Coconut Milk is best served chilled for a sweet and refreshing way to end a feast.

Over at The Min Jiang at One-North, a Festive Treasures Takeaway 7-Course Menu ($532.85, serves six persons) is also available, featuring the new Braised Pork Belly with Pan-fried Lotus Root Pork Patties and Sea Treasures in Claypot. “Happiness” Treasure Pot by House of Happiness
House of Happiness, the latest addition to the cosy neighbourhood of Simpang Bedok, is a casual homely space dedicated to claypot rice dishes. For their first CNY, Chef William Liou presents a “Happiness” Treasure Pot ($128, serves six persons) that is filled with their signature lor bak (braised pork belly), mushrooms, sea cucumber, white radish, bean curd skin and fatt choy (sea moss).
Add on ($20 for six pax, $38 for 10 pax) for fluffy steamed rice, moreish lor bak sauce, braised chicken wings, 12-hour slow braised trotter, bak choy (Chinese cabbage) with oyster sauce and an assortment of house of happiness sauces (sambal chilli, red bean magic sauce and hae bee hiam) for a satisfying meal.

Eight Treasures Pork Belly by Morganfield’s
Known for their juicy ribs and roast meats, Morganfield’s signature roast pork belly with to-die-for crackling skin has been given an auspicious update. This Eight Treasures version ($138.80++, serves six to eight people) is stuffed with the delicacies of glutinous rice, chestnuts, wolf berries, gingko nuts, pistachio nuts, red dates, mushrooms and lap cheong. Slow roasted until the delicious juices from the tender pork are soaked into the rice, and paired with a satisfying crunch from the crispy golden skin, it’s a mouthful of heavenly flavours.
If you prefer some variety, go for their Abundance Platter ($118.80++, serves three to four people) which comes with two slices of the Eight Treasures Pork Belly, a full slab of Baby Back Ribs, six pieces of Candied Bacon, Pumpkin Wedges, French Fries and more. A hearty meal for your family.
