Cranberries are rich in vitamin C, antioxidants and flavonoids known as proanthocyanidins (PACs). They help to guard against infection and provide protection from bacterial inflammation and ageing. Choose the unsweetened variety as added sugar can undo some of the cranberry’s benefits.

Protects teeth.

Research led by oral biologist Dr Hyun Koo shows cranberries prevent plaque build-up and cavity-causing bacteria from sticking to your teeth.

Prevents stomach ulcers.

Drinking a cup of cranberry juice daily can ward off the H.pylori bacteria, which causes stomach ulcers.

Offers urinary tract support

The PACs in cranberries prevent bacteria from latching onto the cells in your urinary tract and bladder, creating a pretective barrier. they also reduce the levels of E.coli, the bacteria responsible for most UTIs (urinary tract infection).

Helps Anti-age skin

Oil made from cranberry seeds is a plant source of omega-3 fats and a potent anti-ageing ingredient when applied directly to skin.

Lowers blood pressure.

The American Heart Association says that drinking unsweetened cranberry juice could  help you keep your blood pressure under control.

Flights inflammation.

Polyphenols found in cranberries offer protection against inflammation and have shown potential to reduce number and size of colon cancer tumours. To maximise this, eat whole cranberries on a regular basis.
