Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solutions Breakout Control Blemish Treatment Facial Lotion, $80
If you struggle with acne, you might already know that salicylic acid is a handy ingredient to have in your skincare: It helps with soothing the skin and reducing inflammation, which is especially important if you’re prone to acne.
The new blemish control facial lotion from Kiehl’s has a formula that contains 1.5 percent salicylic acid as well as aloe vera and vitamin B3 (or niacinamide) which is a skin-restoring ingredient. It isn’t moisturising enough to be used on its own, but it works like a dream under your regular moisturiser to calm any breakouts you have, prevent future ones, and bring radiance back to your skin. It also contains lipo hydroxy acid, which is said to work to loosen up dead cells and prevent clogged pores.
Skin Inc Pure Recovery Dew + Optimiser Voyage Blue Light
The Pure Recovery Dew ($72) is a new lightweight multi-benefit moisturiser from Skin Inc that’s meant to hydrate, soothe, heal and protect your skin. Much like the brand’s Pure Serum Mist, this moisturiser contains mineral-rich onsen water that’s said to soothe and calm skin irritations. You can use the moisturiser with the new Optimiser Voyage Blue Light device ($258), a convenient handheld device which uses NASA-grade technology to soothe the skin and reduce inflammation.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask, $16 each
Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair serum is probably one of the brand’s best-selling skincare products of all time. It’s an amazing repair serum that helps with everything from signs of ageing to improving skin texture, and it even gave me overnight results the first time I used it. The brand has launched a new recovery eye mask that contains their patented Advanced Night Repair technology, as well as concentrated moisture and soothing anti-irritants to give your eye area a boost. And hey, daily stressors and environmental aggressors take a toll on our eyes as well, a particularly delicate area of the face which tends to be neglected, even if you’re a stickler for regular skincare masks and moisturisers! This eye mask is available now at Ion Orchard and at all Estee Lauder counters.
Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask, $65 from Escentials
This mask is meant to combat especially sensitive skin by treating the key symptoms of sensitivity like redness, irritation, itchiness and dryness. It’s going to calm, soothe, and moisturise the skin, as well as work to repair your skin’s protective barrier over time in order to reduce sensitivity. It also goes so far as to claim to utilise our skin’s ability to block stress signals between the brain and our skin, so the latter can repair itself without interference from external aggressors. It also throws in a white mushroom extract that supposedly de-stresses the skin by blocking the irritation and pain messages to the brain. Worth a shot? We think so.

Estelle & Thild BioCalm Optimal Comfort Rescue Oil, $63
If you’ve got dry and sensitive skin, this Rescue Oil from organic Swedish brand Estelle & Thild might be a great way to reintroduce moisture to your skin. The oils in this product are quick-absorbing and have been formulated to soften and soothe your skin. In fact, you could probably use this by mixing it into your foundation if you have dry skin and need more hydration; or if your matte foundation is a tad drying.
Watsons Natto Soothing Facial Mask, $14.90 for 10 pieces
If you want a face mask that’s affordable enough to use regularly, something like Watsons’ Black Pearl Soothing mask is a budget-friendly option. It’s got ingredients like natto gum, which is a fermented soy protein that has potent antioxidant properties, as well as other ingredients to hydrate, replenish and soothe tired skin.
