THE GOLD STANDARD
Touted as “liquid gold”, argan oil hails from Morocco and has been used for centuries as an ancient remedy for skin problems like dry skin, acne, rashes and wrinkles.
Argan oil is rich in oleic and linoleic acid, as well as fatty acids – ideal for acne-prone skin. Even though it’s an oil, argan oil is non-comedogenic which means it doesn’t clog pores.
If you’re sold on the benefits of argan oil but still wary of its oily texture, ANIA’s Pure Argan Oil Light, $64 (60 ml), might be able to change your mind. This lightweight oil absorbs quickly and is organically-sourced and safe for use, even for babies.
Argan oil is extremely versatile, and suitable for all skin types and can be used even on your hair and nails.
- Skin hydration
Add two to three drops and smooth over face. The quick-absorbing oil forms the perfect base for foundation to go on. If you need an extra hydration boost, add one or two drops to your cream moisturiser or even foundation for use when you visit countries with colder weather.
- Tame your mane
Spread a couple of drops of argan oil on your palm and smooth through hair to tame frizziness and moisturise hair cuticles.
- Cuticle rescue
Relieve dryness on your hands and cuticles by spreading two or three drops of argan oil on your palms and nails. Especially useful when you’re on a flight!
- Body beautiful
Dry skin feels instantly nourished when you apply argan oil on it. Those who suffer from eczema can also use argan oil to soothe dry, itchy patches as it also has anti-inflammatory properties.
