Highlighters don’t always have to be used on your cheeks to get that healthy glow. Here are several ways you can maximise your highlight and contouring palettes for amazing skin.
Highlighter On Your Lips
Want to add dimension to your lipsticks? Here’s something you can do: apply a small amount of highlighter in the very centre of your lips to create the illusion of fuller lips.
Want even more shimmer? After applying lipstick, glide on a thin layer of clear lip gloss then dab some highlighter in the centre of your lips.
Highlighter On Your Cupid's Bow
Another way to bring attention to your lips is to highlight your cupid’s bow or the space between your nose and lips.
It’ll add dimension to your face. Alternatively, tap some highlighter onto your philtrum, the two lines just above your upper lip. While philtrium is actually a Latin word, the Greeks regard these lines as the “love charm” that could win over any lover’s heart!
Highlight Under Your Blush
This trick works perfectly with a matte blush.
This beauty hack came from YouTuber Jaclyn Hill who claims doing this gives her skin a “glow from within” and just about anyone with any sort of skin tone can do it.
After you’ve contoured your face, apply highlighter above your cheek bones like you normally would. Next, pick your preferred blush and go over your cheeks for some subtle colour. Your highlighter won’t look as obvious (this is the whole point!) but it’ll add a subtle glow that will leave others wondering where you’ve been and how you got it!

Mix Highlighter With Foundation
This trick works perfectly with liquid highlighter and foundation.
If you want to that all over dewy look, add a tiny drop of highlighter to your liquid foundation.
Afterwards, you can either apply the mixture onto the high points of your face or use it all over. Here’s how YouTuber Desi Perkins does it:
