“Strobing makeup is all the rage in Korea now and it is all about creating that flawless and luminous look. The term strobing represents the moment when there is a flash of light, hence the need for a number of highlighting products to complete the effect.”
“Firstly, we will use the ETUDE HOUSE PLAY 101 Stick as a foundation – there are four foundation shades in the collection to cater to different skin tones. Apply the product on your cheeks, forehead and chin then use the PLAY 101 Blending Finger Brush to conveniently apply and blend the product and create a light and translucent base.
The tool that you use to apply your makeup really makes a difference to the final effect of the product on your skin. By using the PLAY 101 Blending Finger Brush, you can create an airy transluscent finish so that your base makeup does not look too heavy.”
“To create a natural highlighting effect, I will be applying the highlighting portion of the PLAY 101 Stick Contour Duo on to the features of the face that will tend to “hit the light” – the T-Zone and C-Zone. The products applied on your T-Zone and C-Zone will determine the overall finish of your look and you should always be gentle with your application. My go-to method is to always lightly apply the product on your face then tap and blend the product evenly to create a luminous finish.”
“To ensure that the colours on the lips remain as the focus, we can choose to use more neutral colours for the eye makeup. The trend in Korea right now is to apply eye makeup using pencil products then blending them out to create an eyeshadow effect. To achieve this look, we will first apply the PLAY 101 Blending Pencil in shade #5, then use an eyeshadow brush to blend the colour out while ensuring that the colours dont go beyond the eyelids.
Following which, apply the PLAY 101 Blending Pencil in #11 – a faint pearl pink shade onto the eyelids and use the same colour to highlight your lower lash line. To finish off, use an eyeshadow brush to blend shades #5 and #11 on your eyelids together.”
“To complete your eye makeup, apply your mascara in three different steps. First on the middle lashes, followed by the inner lashes then the lashes on the outer corner of your eyes. This will help your lashes to stay curled nicely.”
“To create a dewy transluscent blusher effect on your skin, apply the PLAY 101 Blending Pencil in shades #18 and #1 in a circular motion on the apples of your cheeks then blend them together with the PLAY 101 Blending Finger Brush.”
“This year’s gradient lip trend is all about the bright reds, pinks and orange and completing the effect with just one product. To do this, I will be using the ETUDE HOUSE Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk Chiffon lipstick in one of the star shades PK027 – this product has been highly raved about for it’s highly pigmented formulation with a smooth and light texture that resembles chiffon.
To create the gradient effect, simply apply a small amount on the inner portion of the lips then blend it outwards with the PLAY 101 Blending Finger Brush. With that, we have completed our strobing makeup look!”
