#1 Allies of Skin
Created by Nicolas Travis, this local brand started with just three products – a day mask, night mask and facial mist – forming a really simple routine that boasts great efficacy with the right ingredients. Although Nicolas has increased the repertoire with a series of cleanser-mask hybrids, as well as serums, the range is still relatively pared down and simple.
Although Huxley offers both skincare, makeup and body care products, when you break down the routine, it’s really just a few steps – cleansing, essence, serum, moisturiser and the weekly mask.
The brand breaks down their ranges based on skin concerns like dehydration or pigmentation, so it’s pretty clear-cut when it comes to choosing the products you need.
Another local brand, RE:ERTH focuses on using key active ingredients to strengthen skin. The proprietary Japanese white tumeric leave and root extract has excellent anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, and inhibits hyaluronic acid degradation, meaning skin stays supple and firm.
Their current lineup features a cleanser, toner, the multi-targeted elixir (their star serum) and a gel moisturiser.
#5 Sigi Skin
Sigi Skin is another local brand that has only launched with three products (we are sensing a pattern here, perhaps Singaporeans just love fuss-free skincare?). With a cleanser, eye cream and hydrating physical sunscreen, Sigi Skin is all about what’s best for the skin – they’re formulated without parabens, dye, SLS, phthalates, mineral oil, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarben and polyunsaturated oils (PUFA).
