Unlike sheet masks, clay masks aren’t as easy to just put on. Here are some of the most common do’s and don’ts you need to take note of:
Don't: Leave It Only For Too Long
Not all masks are created equal and with clay masks, their purpose is more for exfoliating and cleansing rather than hydrating (unless otherwise stated).
So, be sure to read the package and see just how long your mask is meant to be used for.
Do: Try To Do A Multi Mask Sometimes
Different parts of your face have different skin concerns and the many different clay masks out in the market have been manufactured to fit these concerns so, don’t be afraid to multi mask from time to time.
You may want to apply an anti-aging formula on your forehead and apply a hydrating formula on your cheeks.
Do: Exfoliate And Apply An Essence Before Applying Your Mask
Just like a sheet mask, exfoliating helps get rid of dead skin cells and allow for better skin absorption.
Don't: Forget To Moisturise
Clay masks are drying and exfoliating so be sure to load up on moisturiser when you’ve used a clay mask.
Don't: Use A Clay Masks Too Frequently
Clay masks can be drying so alternate between a clay and a moisturising sheet mask so your skin remains soft and supple.
