From 15 to 17 September 2023, Singapore’s F1 Grand Prix roars to life, offering two nights of exhilarating races and power-packed concerts.
However, to truly enjoy this spectacle amidst Singapore’s tropical climate and the day-to-night race transition, you need to be well-prepared.
Here is the ultimate packing list to make the most of your time at the home of Formula 1 night racing.
Your Ultimate F1 Survival Guide Packing List
Waterproof backpack/lightweight backpack
An indispensable companion, it ensures all your essentials are within easy reach.
Portable Hand Fan or Neck Fan
The tropical heat can be relentless. These compact devices offer a personal, refreshing breeze, ensuring you stay cool even amidst crowded stands.
Staying hydrated is paramount. With a handy water bottle, you’re assured regular sips, keeping heat exhaustion at bay.
Do note that food and beverages from outside are not allowed inside the Circuit Park. You can bring an empty bottle of not more than 600ml per person and refill them at water points available throughout the area.
Sunscreen (SPF 50+)
The sun in Singapore is intense. A high SPF sunscreen will protect your skin from harmful UV rays, helping you avoid unpleasant sunburns.

For those who would like added protection from the sun, you can choose to pair your sunscreen with a cap, to further shield your face and eyes.
According to the organisers, umbrellas are not allowed for sun protection to avoid hindering patrons’ view of the race and to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone. They are only allowed for use on grandstands in inclement weather.
The expansive Marina Bay Street Circuit means a lot of walking. Ensure you have a pair of comfortable shoes to explore the event grounds which cover the size of approximately 80 soccer fields!
Ear Plugs or Noise-Cancelling Headphones
F1 cars, while thrilling, are deafening. Protect your ears from the roaring engines while soaking in the atmosphere.

If you’re seated farther from the track, binoculars enhance your viewing experience, letting you catch close-ups of your favourite drivers and pit lane antics.
With all the photos, videos, and social media updates, your phone might run out of juice. A power bank ensures you remain connected and charged.
Portable Raincoat or Poncho
With Singapore’s unpredictable weather, having a portable raincoat or poncho makes you race-ready, come rain or shine.
Also, the Singapore Grand Prix is a rain or shine event, so be sure to be ready for any weather!
If you’re at F1 for the concert, having a standing stool/portable chair might just be the best advice we have for you. Having one of these bad boys ensures you’re getting the best view of your favourite celebs (stand up on the stool!), as well as a comfy space to rest when you’re tired.
