Fann Wong is joining fellow Singapore celebrities Jeanette Aw and Rebecca Lim on the pastry business bandwagon. The star has announced that she will be launching her online pastry shop, named ‘Fanntasy’ come October.
The 50-year-old veteran actress, who is also the judge and host of Mediacorp’s baking contest Creme de la Creme, picked up baking during the Circuit Breaker period last year. She shared with 8days, “After many months of painstaking trial and error experimenting with and developing the recipes, I’m now ready to launch Fanntasy.”
The initial launch will see two decadent tarts on the menu
As of now, there are two menu items, the Signature Valrhona Chocolate Tart ($58) and Musang King Gula Melaka Tart ($68), both inspired by hubby Christopher Lee and her son Zed’s favourite flavours. The former will comprise 70 per cent dark Valrhona chocolate cremeux and almond sponge resting atop a chocolate sable base, and sprinkled with gold dust.
Meanwhile, durian lovers can look forward to the Musang King Gula Melaka Tart, which is a delectable confection of “pure Musang King pulp and house-made gula melaka sauce” on a butter sable base, together with dessicated coconut.
For the opening launch, only 1,000 tarts will be available for sale, and the actress is working with a licensed baker to ramp up production. More desserts will be added to the menu in the future.
If you’re looking forward to trying out her bakes, mark your calendars for Oct 13, 2021. She’ll be launching her store at 9.29 am at https://fanntasybakes.com.sg.
