Love it or loathe it, there’s no denying the influence of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ aka KUWTK, and how it’s basically launched the careers of the Kardashian/Jenner family and their wildly successful business ventures, as well as numerous spin-offs.
And then there are the iconic moments that have given rise to countless memes (who can forget the time Kim lost her diamond ring in the pool, when she went on a selfie spree while Khloe was on the way to jail, and Kourtney’s savage clapbacks?).
But if you’ve been keeping up with the famous family, the reality show which premiered in 2007, and follows the lives (and drama) of the Kardashians and Jenners, is about to come to an end.
Kim Kardashian and family matriarch Kris Jenner both made the announcement via a throwback of the show’s promotional photo, alongside a rather sentimental post on Instagram.
“It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” she shares. “After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”
They also thanked the people who’d been involved in the making of the show, as well as producer Ryan Seacrest, cable channel E!, and their production team at Bunim/Murray.
But fans of the show, there’s no need to fret yet — it will only officially come to a close in early 2021 with Season 20. In fact, Season 19 is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, Sep 17.
Meanwhile, here’s reliving some of the most iconic moments on the show:
