Get ready for more intense culinary action, unexpected challenges and elevated takes on iconic local dishes, because season three of MasterChef Singapore is here.

The 10-episode series will premiere on May 1, 2022 with 18 participants — and only 12 will make the cut to snag the coveted white MasterChef aprons during the first episode.

The 18 home cooks were selected from hundreds of applicants in a nationwide search for talented amateur cooks. Coming from all walks of life and armed with a wide repertoire of cooking styles, they include teachers, university students, high-flying investors, stay-at-home mums and a food delivery driver.

Back on the judges panel are chefs Audra Morrice, Bjorn Shen and Damian D’Silva, and they’ll be joined by special guests and culinary giants throughout the season.

The top 12 contestants will then be rewarded with the opportunity to compete in the MasterChef kitchen, and only one will emerge victorious and be crowned the next Singapore MasterChef. There will also be a deluge of prizes amounting to over $100,000 worth of cash and items.

Engineering student Derek Cheong, was crowned the winner of season 2, and walked away with over $100,000 worth of prizes including $22,000 cash, a book publishing deal with Marshall Cavendish, Nespresso products, household and kitchen appliances, a staycation and spa package from Fullerton Hotel, as well as internship opportunities with chefs Damien D’Silva and Bjorn Shen.

The first season of MasterChef Singapore ran in 2018, with Zander Ng emerging as the inaugural winner.

Masterchef Singapore Season Three is available on meWATCH and Channel 5 every Sunday at 9.30pm from May 1, 2022 with episodes available on the same night via Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel.
