You and the kids can soon catch Michelle Obama’s own children cooking show on Netflix.
The former First Lady of the United States and mother of two will be the producer as well as the star of ‘Waffles + Mochi’, which follows two characters trying to escape The Land of Frozen Food to become chefs, with their dreams becoming a reality at a whimsical new supermarket, and sees Obama as a supermarket owner.
Comprising 10 episodes, the show champions healthy eating, which is in line with Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” public health campaign that aims to curb childhood obesity, help families access healthy, affordable foods, and increase their physical activity.
In a statement, Netflix shared: “With the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner Mrs Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as their guide, Waffles and Mochi blast off on global ingredient missions, travelling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities.”
“It’s all about good food: discovering it, cooking it, and of course, eating it,” Michelle Obama wrote on Instagram. “These two will take us on adventures all around the world to explore new ingredients and try out new recipes. Kids will love it, but I know that adults will also get plenty of laughs—and some tips for the kitchen.”
“Waffles + Mochi” will premiere on Netflix on March 16.
