This weekend (Dec 31-Jan 1st), Singapore is packed to the brim with some fun activities. We narrow down the best ones so you and your kids can spend quality time together.
1. Universal Studios Singapore: Dance In The Park
What: From LED street acts to pyrotechnics and even a fireworks display, count down to the New Year’s with the family. Visitors can enjoy the rides and attractions after 5pm, before the countdown party starts at 9.
Admission: $50 per person for After 5pm Admission ticket (packages available from $150 for 2)

2. The Rink: Countdown on Ice
What: Count down to the New Year on ice, where there will even be a DJ spinning on ice. Minimum age of entry is three, and children between three and five need to be accompanied.
Admission: $28 per person

3. Celebrate 2017
What: Catch performances by local artists Gentle Bones and The Façade, and welcome in the New Year with a fireworks display. The party will be televised live on Channel 5 from 11pm to 12:15am.
Visit: Suntec Plaza, Suntec City, 3 Temasek Boulevard
4. Marina Bay Singapore Countdown
What: Catch light displays around the Marina Bay area, or head down to an arts market where you can enjoy a movie screening or take part in yoga sessions. Don’t forget to watch the eight-minute fireworks display over Marina Bay at midnight.
Admission: Free (some activities require prior registration)

5. Faber Peak: Hilltop Countdown
What: Ring in the New Year 100m above sea level in style, where you can book a 1 ½ hour slot in the Celebration Cabin for up to six passengers.
The package comes with a dessert platter, party packs and two bottles of champagne. Fireworks will also be set off at midnight. You can also choose to have a four-course dinner at either Faber Bistro or Spuds and Aprons.
Admission: $488++ a cabin (up to 6 passengers), only 30 cabins available

6. Bounceoff! Fiesta
What: Unleash your inner child at the BounceOFF! Fiesta, where inflatables are spread over 40,000 sq m in the Marina Bay area.
There are 32 inflatables that are divided into three zones: bounce, slide and jump.
Highlights include the Skyscraper, a mammoth inflatable 16m tall, 70m long and 18m wide, as well as the Blobber, where you leap from a height of 7m onto a 3m-deep inflatable bag.
The fiesta will operate till late on New Year’s Eve.
Admission: Pay-per-rides range from $3 to $40, or get an all-day pass from $48 to $128

7. Silent Disco Asia Live
What: Dance to your own beat at this year-end shindig, where party- goers put on a pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones and pick from three channels playing disco, house or rock tunes.
The organisers are keeping mum on what to expect moments before the countdown, but there will be lots of glitter.
Admission: Early-bird price of $35 on a first-come-first-served basis. Otherwise it is $45 (includes one drink)

8. Community Bashes
What: The People’s Association’s (PA) grassroots organisations are holding more than 200 New Year’s Eve celebrations islandwide.
Rub shoulders with local celebrities such as Tosh Zhang and Kelly Poon at Nee Soon South’s bash which will take place at the open field opposite Khatib MRT station.
Or catch martial arts and dance performances at the Boon Lay Countdown 2017 at the hard court beside Block 215 Boon Lay Place.
Admission: Mostly free, though interested attendees are encouraged to check with organisers.

9. Haji Lane
What: Let your hair down at a street bash in hipster enclave Haji Lane.
The DJ will be spinning a mix of 1990s R&B, funk, hip-hop and reggae beats.
Visit: Haji Lane, next to Mexican restaurant Piedra Negra at 241 Beach Road
10. Clip 'n Climb
What: This indoor climbing theme park is super fun for kids and adults too! With over 10 colourful themed walls that range from easy to difficult, your little ones get to use up some of that pent up energy from staying at home all week.
