Often times with work, family and other commitments, it can be difficult to maintain a strong and close bond with your mother. However, keeping a close bond and relationship with your mum doesn’t always have to be difficult. Read on to see our tips below:
1. Come Over For Dinner
She might not always ask you to but she’ll definitely appreciate it when you do. So, make time to visit your mum and have dinner with her.
2. Run Errands With Her
Whether it’s grocery shopping or simply accompanying her to a doctor’s appointment, running errands with your mum can really bring you closer to her. She’ll appreciate the time you took to go out with her and who knows, you might just learn more about finding the best bargains while out shopping with her.
3. Make It A Point To Take Her To Appointments
If you mum has to visit the doctor regularly or if she goes grocery shopping only on Sundays, why not turn that into something you both do together?
4. Text or Call Her Daily
You’re already spending so much time on your phone so text or call your mum at least once a day to let her know you care. A simple text like asking her what she’s doing or if she’s eaten can go a long way in making her feel loved and cared for.
5. Surprise Her Once In A While
Once in a while, make an effort to surprise your mum by taking her out to a nice afternoon tea or by helping her run an errand. A gift once in a while is fine too but we’re certain she’ll appreciate the initiative you’ve taken to go out of your way to make her happy.
6. Include Her In Your Family's Activities
Taking the kids to Universal Studios Ask your mum if she’d love to come along. In fact, if your family is doing something fun together, ask your mum to come along once in a while. She’ll love being able to spend time with her grand kids and will appreciate the initiative you took.
7. Go Through Old Photos Together and Reminisce
Looking through all photos together helps to create conversation and gives your mum the perfect opportunity to tell you about the best parts of her life.
