A Look Back At The Most Iconic Royal Christenings Of All Time

How precious! Prince Harry and Duchess Megan’s firstborn son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, just got baptised exactly two months after being born on May 6. The intimate christening took place at a private chapel in Windsor Castle. Check out the adorable family picture here:

Keeping in line with Meghan and Harry’s wishes, the ceremony was kept relatively low-key, with less than 25 guests. In attendance were baby Archie’s proud grandparents – Prince Charles and wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as well as his doting grandmother, Doria Ragland, who flew in from the United States. Proud uncle and aunt Prince William and Duchess Catherine were also there to witness the special occasion. Notably, the Queen herself was absent as she had a prior commitment.

We also got a clearer look at little Archie’s face (who do you think he resembles more – Harry or Meghan?!):

As with many traditional royal christenings, the little royal was baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury who also baptised Meghan before she married Prince Harry in 2018. Archie donned the same christening gown as his cousins George, Charlotte and Louis.

According to @sussexroyal, the gown has been worn by royal infants for the last 11 years, and is a handmade replica of the original christening robe commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841 for her eldest daughter.
