The Influencer Mum: Michelle Hon, 38, and daughter Lauren, six
If there was a word to describe this mum-preneur, it’d be busy, busy, and busy. In addition to running her popular lifestyle blog, The Chill Mom, the 38-year-old also has a baby-planning business where she helps other women cope with the arrival of their little bundles of joy.
Throw in a book that she wrote and published last year on top of her mothering duties to her three kids and you wonder how she manages to look so impeccably put together. But put together is exactly what Michelle is, as proven by her countless OOTD posts on Instagram.
“My style is pretty casual most of the time because I work from home but on special occasions, I veer towards smart casual dresses in solids and bright colours,” shares Michelle.
“I love the outfit that Lauren picked out for me today. I love the muted tones of the top and the pants. The blouse is elegant but still has an interesting design element to it. The outfit on the whole is very tailored and it’s very me. She knows me so well!”
Lauren on her part thinks her mum looks amazing, especially with the addition of some bling. “I really liked the Pandora ring I chose for my mum. It’s my favourite piece because of its heart shape, and it’s also elegant and really suits her,” says the 6-year-old mini-fashionista.
Mother’s Day is a pretty big deal in their household, the duo reveal. “It’s really nice to have a special day to celebrate all the hard work mothers do all year long,” says Michelle, before Lauren chimes in with her plans. “I’m going to try to do breakfast in bed for Mummy this year. I just want to show her that I really, really love her.”
In celebrating the bonds we share with our mothers, Pandora’s Joined By Love series features a selection of timeless designs that are sure to appeal to both mums and daughters. Featuring a heart-shaped knot motif at the centre of the collection, which represents the idea of an unbreakable bond of love, find new pieces such as the chunky chain bracelet or the versatile long necklace to add to your jewellery box.

The Model Mum: Colleen Francisca, 37, and daughter Aludra, five
No stranger to the world of glitzy dresses and glittery jewels, Colleen relishes getting all dressed up again after hanging up her crown and sash following the end of her reign as Miss Singapore World in 2007.
The fact that it was her darling daughter, five-year-old Aludra, that would be playing the role of stylist made the experience even better for the model-turned-businesswoman, who owns a dessert emporium called the The Cupcake Boutique.
“My aesthetic is all about timeless, classic pieces that will withstand fashion trends. I like to inject a little bit of whimsy into my wardrobe from time to time but overall, I’m a lady’s lady,” confesses Colleen who is also mum to a three-year-old son, Atlas.
“I feel very ‘extra’ in the dress that Aludra picked out for me. It’s shiny, it’s bold, I can’t sit still in it, and I just want to move. It’s a dress to dance in that’s for sure.”
“Mummy likes to wear dresses so I chose another dress for her that I think makes her look 1,000 per cent prettier,” says Aludra.
“I had so much fun dressing her up but my favourite part was getting our make-up done together. I’m happy she looks pretty.”
Colleen in turn was impressed by her daughter’s emerging taste level when it comes to fashion. “I’m pleasantly surprised by her choices. I was trying to be nice to her all day before coming down to the photoshoot so she would choose good things for me but I really didn’t have to,” she laughs.
“Her picks were absolutely stunning. I especially like the Pandora Tree of Life bracelet she narrowed down for me because it very much ticks all the boxes when it comes to my style: Classic, simple and timeless, but with a pop of colour.”
Symbolic of your unique family tree, Pandora’s Tree of Life collection is a celebration of home, security and growth. At the heart of this series is a delicate tree motif, which appears on a pair of dainty ear studs or stackable bracelets and bangles. And just as a tree grows steadily towards the sky, the Tree of Life collection serves to remind you of the growing love and life your family has for you too.

The Quirky Mum: Shiela Matias, 33, and daughter Simone, six
Like most parents, Shiela thought her two kids were cute but that cuteness turned into marketability as well when brands started using images of her children – Simone and Dylan – in their campaigns.
“I’ve never been in front of the camera before, it’s always been about the kids. I just drive them to fashion shoots usually so it’s nice to be able to have a bit of a role reversal where my daughter dresses me instead of the other way around,” says Shiela.
“I’m very laid-back and casual when it comes to clothes. I’ll try to mix it up by putting on a cute accessory or some kind of embellishment. I run around ferrying my kids all the time so while I do want to look chic, it needs to be able to fit into my lifestyle as well.”
Simone, being used to having a selection of clothes at her disposal during photoshoots, decided to go in the opposite direction and chose a boho-inspired look for her mother.
“I think she looks so pretty in this skirt and top combo. The ruffles are gorgeous, I love the prints and the colours too. I wish she would dress like this all the time!” declares six-year-old Simone.
“The sparkly necklace shaped like a heart was my best pick because it really suits her. That and the bracelet with the charms were my favourite.”
Simone isn’t done yet with making bold choices for her mum. She reveals that she plans on making her mum a Mother’s Day card come May 12 and has a present prepared for her.
“Simone has always been a sweet child. She loves writing letters for me and I’ve kept them all through the years,” Sheila reveals. “Let’s just say I have a lot of ‘Get Well Soon’ cards!”
