It’s a boy for local celebrity couple Tay Kewei and Alfred Sim.

Singer-songwriter Tay Kewei, 38, and her husband Alfred, 40, who’s also a singer as well as an athletics coach, have welcomed their third child, a baby boy whom they call Qiu Qiu, who weighed 3.2kg at birth. She gave birth at Parkway East Hospital on Sunday, 12 June.

The duo are also parents to two other sons – Momo, four, and Xiao Pian Pian, one. They shared that their third child’s nickname was actually coined by Momo. ‘Momo was the one who came up with Xiao Pian Pian’s nickname.’ Kewei said in a press statement. ‘When I was pregnant with our third child, I happened to ask Momo if he had any ideas for a name for his new brother. He touched my stomach, and laughed while saying it was to be Qiuqiu (referring to a ball in Mandarin).’

Alfred also added, “It’s a weird feeling for me because while it’s not our first time going for a delivery, we also knew that this birth was most probably going to be the last one for us. We want to fully enjoy every moment.”

They announced her pregnancy in January this year, at the same time revealing they were teaming up for their first full-fledged concert together, titled “Re:Birth”, which took place in March.

They tied the knot in 2015 after dating for nearly a decade. Earlier this month, the family also took part in an adorable gangster-themed family and maternity photoshoot shot in a warehouse, showcasing Kewei’s baby bump. Cute!
