Gwen Stefani has said Yes to becoming a Mrs.
The singer, 51, made the engagement Instagram official with a post that shows her flashing a sparkling engagement ring while kissing her new fiance, country singer and songwriter Blake Shelton, 44.
Blake Shelton shared the same post with the caption, “Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life. I love you. I heard a YES!”
Both coaches and judges of singing competition series The Voice, the pair had met in 2014 while hosting the show. But both were still married to other people – Stefani to Gavin Rossdale, and Shelton to Miranda Lambert.
Both divorced their former spouses in 2015, and officially started dating in November the same year.
Not only have they continued to work on the set of The Voice together, the lovebirds have also teamed up professionally; they performed together frequently and have collaborated on duets such as “Go Ahead and Break My Heart”, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” and “If I’m Honest”.
Shelton’s song “Turnin’ Me On” is based on Stefani, while her 2016 song, “Make Me Love You” is about Shelton.
Just last week, the pair took home a CMT Music Award for Collaborative Video of the Year for their duet “Nobody But You”.
The also bought their first home together, a US$13.2 million property in California.
