Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao, 34, might be best known for his soulful vocals, but he’s also a foodie entrepreneur with an instant noodle brand and a hotpot restaurant in China under his belt.

His bubble tea shop, AtTea1987 (which is his birth year) opened last year in Ximending, Taipei, and saw hordes of fans forming snaking queues. And in less than a year, it’s spawned eight more outlets.

And it’s now coming to Singapore.

Signatures at the franchise outlet include drinks that are topped with a cream cheese foam topping, which is apparently the singer’s favourite and that the brand claims to have been whipped 800 times for a light texture. There’s Jam’s Oolong tea, Mingjian Oolong Tea and more.

More than just a business, it’s also Jam’s way of helping to provide employment opportunities to those who have been affected by the pandemic.

While the location of the shop has yet to unveiled (though the teaser image on its Instagram page is quite a giveaway), AtTea1987 Singapore revealed a swanky training lab, where employees will learn and hone their craft.

And if winning a month’s supply of BBT sounds like your idea of heaven, there’s a competition on its Instagram page to win just that, too. Guess the location of the new outlet and DM the page to stand a chance to win.

The store is set to open at the end of April.
