10 Foods To Beat The Haze
Chia Seeds

A powerhouse supplement you can easily add to your food or drinks, chia seeds are not only loaded with nutrients that help your body defend itself against external aggressors, but are also known to help with weight loss (double bonus!).

Salmon

Most types of oily fish are good for you, but salmon is one of the most convenient to get. This Omega 3-packed meat helps raise your immunity system by countering inflammations. It also enhances your heart health and boosts brain power.

Berries

Berries = Antioxidants. So load up on strawberries, raspberries, blueberries or blackberries. They are a rich source of vitamins which can help combat free radicals and prevent the onset of illnesses like the common flu.

Tea

Most teas are good for you, but some like white tea has higher antioxidant content. Others like chamomile or chrysanthemum has great cooling properties which help to soothe a sore throat or blocked nasal passage – common symptoms when the air quality is bad.

Nuts

Providing a great source of vitamin E, nuts like pistachios, almonds and pine nuts help to boost your immune system. They are great as a snack on their own, or add to ice-cream, smoothies or salads to bump up nutrition value.

Broccoli

Yes, the adage of “eat your broccoli” must mean something. Broccoli contains antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and detoxifying micronutrients, and also has immunity-boosting powers. Fighting the detrimental effects of haze is going to be easy when you load up on this super veggie.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Loaded with rich concentrations of inflammation-fighting polyphenols, extra virgin olive oil (always go for the purer extra virgin choice) is also rich in antioxidants to boost immunity. Best served drizzled over your salad or as a dip for bread.

Ginger

It helps eliminate toxins in the body and lessen inflammation. Add slices of ginger in hot tea or water, plus a few slices of lemon, and drink it to help clear up nasal congestion or relieve throat irritation caused by the haze.

Radish

Known for its detoxifying effects, radish also has a ton of health benefits such as improving cardiovascular functions and aiding digestion. More importantly, it helps relieve respiratory problems and strengthen your lungs.
