10 Things Every Dermatologist Wants You To Know About Your Skin
1. Avoid The Sun

We know we can’t all be like Kimmy Schmidt and live in a bunker without sun damage but you can always load up on sunscreen to keep your skin free of sun damage.

Get sunscreen with at least SPF50 and UVA AND UVB protection. Remember also to reapply sunscreen after being out in the sun.

2. Layer Your Skincare Products From Thinnest To Thickest For More Efficiency

If you’re on the Korean 11-step beauty program that includes everything from toner to essence and serum, start your skincare routine from the product that has the thinnest viscosity and work your way up.

This ensures the best and highest absorption rate.

3. Remove Your Makeup More Effectively

Sometimes, makeup wipes just don’t cut it for every day cleansing. instead, remove your makeup effectively by double cleansing.

Start with an oil cleanser to gently get rid of oil-based makeup then proceed to use a water-based cleanser to get rid of any makeup residue.

4. Eat Well

Great diet begets great skin. Often times when you’re getting an allergic reaction to something, your skin is the first to show signs.

5. Get Enough Sleep

Your skin regenerates and repairs itself best at night so make sure you’re getting enough sleep so your skin has time to recover and look its best.

6. Remember To Exfoliate

Exfoliating — even if you have sensitive skin — is extremely important so that you slough away all the dead skin cells that could build up and lower the absorption rate of skin.

7. Don't Over Clenase Skin

Over time, your skin loses its ability to maintain its own natural moisture so make it a point to stay away from over washing your skin and drying it out even further. Stay away from products with alcohol too.

Which brings us to our next point…

8. Invest In A Good Moisturiser

A good moisturiser helps to provide lipids and moisture to parched skin so be sure to invest in a good one that’s suitable for your skin.

9. Remember To Treat Your Neck Right Too

Whatever you use on your face, use it on your neck too! Your neck is one of the first places to show signs of aging even if your face doesn’t so it’s important to keep that looking its best.

10. Increase Blood Circulation To Your Face

When cleansing your face, take some time to massage it a little to improve its lymphatic drainage capabilities and increase the circulation of blood flow on your skin.
