5 Things You Can Do To Worry Less And Beat Anxiety In 2017
1. Don't Overload On Your Schedule

For people with anxiety, having a filled up schedule can be quite overwhelming and at times, tiring.

Whether it’s for social or work commitments, take the time to prioritise and take breaks in between social functions.

2. Learn To Let It Go

According to Health.com, people with anxiety tend to have obsessive compulsive behaviours and a fixation on achieving perfection. While striving for perfection is a great quality to have, people with anxiety tend to take it too far.

As Dr. Sally Winston, co-director of the Anxiety and Stress Disorder Institute of Maryland in Towson has said, “If you’re constantly judging yourself or you have a lot of anticipatory anxiety about making mistakes or falling short of your standards, then you probably have an anxiety disorder.”

To overcome this, constantly remind yourself that making mistakes is perfectly normal and that life is a learning journey. Make it a point to surround yourself with people who love you and support you so the journey gets easier.

3. Identify What Triggers You

Do you feel stressed when you’re about to open your emails at work? Or are you constantly thinking about a particular period in time in your life?

Irrational fears and constant traumatic flashbacks can worsen feelings of anxiety so, whenever you’re feeling an onset of emotions about to come through, check yourself out and take deep breaths. Once you’re able to identify what triggers you, you’ve a step ahead of your anxiety problems.

4. Sleep Well

Often, people with anxiety complain that sleep tends to evade them.

Finding it hard to relax? Try these four yoga poses meant to help you sleep better. Alternatively, load up on teas like chamomile and lavendar can help calm you down and relax you.

5. Exercise

We know, it’s the last thing you want to do when you’re feeling down and stressed but trust us, it helps.

The body releases happy and feel good endorphins when you’ve done working out and it’s the best mood lifter money can’t buy.

The best part is, all you need is just 21 minutes, according to studies and it doesn’t even have to be very strenuous. Even walking after dinner to clear your head could help clear your mind.
