Sleeping is one of the main reasons we look forward to the weekends, but did you know that sleeping in too much could actually be affecting your sleep cycle?
This leaves you tired the next day and the cycle continues.
Instead, try to stick to your weekday sleep cycle.
We know how our phones emit blue light rays that prevent us from sleeping so try not to use it too much before bed on Sunday.
However, if you really have to, here are some ways your iPhone could actually help you sleep better.
While alcohol could actually help you fall asleep quicker and more deeply, the effects only last a few minutes. Alcohol greatly reduces the rapid eye movement (REM) and REM sleep so much so that you’ll wake up more tired.
We know the weekends are for recuperating and relaxing but not being active on the weekends could actually be detrimental for sleep.
As your body is used to getting up and doing more on weekdays, not getting enough activity could hurt your sleep cycle.
We’re all guilty of giving in to temptations on the weekends and eating whatever we like but eating unhealthily too could ruin your sleep cycle.
Your body might not be used to the large amount of food you’re eating and the more digestion it has to do, the more tired you’ll be.
If you’ve slept in till noon but still need your cup of coffee, perhaps it’s wise to reconsider. Caffeine could potentially leave your body feeling restless and despite how you might not feel it while you’re awake, your sleep cycle could be interrupted.
Not giving yourself enough time to wind down for bed before the weekend is over can actually cause you to take a longer time to fall asleep, especially on a Sunday!
