It’s time to put the spotlight on a part of the body we can often take for granted: the eyes! Follow these easy, natural tips to improve your eyesight now.

When our eyesight is compromised, we’re more likely to suffer low mood and depression, as it’s more difficult to enjoy things that keep us independent, like driving. “If you think your eyesight is changing, do seek medical attention. There might be something you can do to help stop things getting worse, and it having further effects on your health,” advises Professor Jufnoo Rahi from University College Hospital. 1. Eat right for bright eyesight

While you may have heard it a thousand times, it is really important to eat right! Eating a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables will seriously help improve your eyesight and keep it from deteriorating.

2. Give your eyes some rest and relaxation

Do yourself (and your eyes) a favor by taking a break for about 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent in front of the screen. Simply close your eyes for a minute or get up and walk around the office. Focus on something that isn’t a screen.

3. Perform eye exercises

One of the fastest ways to improve your vision naturally is to perform daily eye exercises. Eye exercises are meant to strengthen the eyes and improve vision. Start by rolling your eyes for example: Roll your eyes in a counter-clockwise motion about 10 times, then reverse the movement and roll them clockwise.

4. Warm your eyes

Try this when your eyes feel fatigued: Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Commit to this task daily to see results within a few weeks.

5. Get enough sleep

Supporting your eye health is just one of the many benefits of getting at least eight hours of sleep a night. If your eyes are well-rested, they will be in much better condition!

6. Massage your temples
image

Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose.

7. Take a walk

If you want to improve your vision quickly, take a 20-minute daily walk outside if you can, preferably in nature. When you’re indoors all the time, your eyes are confined and they don’t get room to stretch out.

8. Loosen up

Tension in the eyes is always accompanied by tension in other areas of your body such as your face, jaw, neck and shoulders. Practice relaxation and breathing techniques to loosen up, improve energy and blood flow throughout your body, and see better!
