A vaginal infection doesn’t have to happen because of a sexually transmitted disease but is without a doubt going to be uncomfortable and require treatment. The most common one that occurs among women between the ages of 15 and 44 is bacterial vaginosis (BV).
While there is no data on its prevalence in Singapore, data from
the United States Centers for Diseases Control estimates that 21.2 million (29.2 per cent) of women in the United States between the ages of 14 to 49 have BV. Many women also tend to experience recurrent episodes.
