Carry-On Essentials You Need To Travel Comfortably Every Time

September 21, 2017

As the holiday season approaches, you’re probably already thinking of all the essentials you’re going to need to pack for your long-awaited holiday. If you’re anything like us, you’ll know how stressful packing for a holiday can actually be.

Whether it’s a short regional trip or one that takes you inter-continental, packing for a holiday is pretty much a job in itself. So while we can’t be there to literally help you pack, what we can do is share some helpful tips on carry-on packing for you so you’re less stressed.

We’ve narrowed down some of the must-have essentials to always keep in your carry-on so you stay happy and comfortable during your flight — whether near or far!

Carry-On Essentials You Need To Travel Comfortably Every Time
A Clear Resalable Bag

Certain countries like Australia and America are stricter when it comes to baggage inspection and will require you to put all your liquids, creams and beauty essentials in a clear resealable plastic bag.

Some airports even have officers who inspect each and every carry-on in search for loose bottles and containers. So, unless you want to toss your expensive hand cream away, always make sure to have an extra resealable bag in your carry on to put unexpected items away.

Solid Perfumes and Balms

Alternatively, you can opt for balms instead of liquids. They are not at a risk of spilling and most importantly, inspection officers hardly bat an eyelid when they see it so, you’ll get through customs a lot quicker too.

A Portable Charger And A Wall Plug

You might think that because certain airlines provide you with USB charging ports, you don’t have to bring a portable charger on board or even a wall plug but, what happens if that USB port isn’t functioning and you’re travelling alone?

It’s always best to have a back-up option like a wall plug and a portable charger just in case. In the worst case scenario, if you lose your luggage, your phone will have enough juice to get you through emergency phone calls.

Your Own Amenitiy Kit

The trick to flying in comfort is to be prepared. Having your own medicines for headaches, allergies and other ailments can ease your mind should certain situations pop up mid-flight. Be sure to pack along some sanitary wipes and dry tissue too because the airplanes can be dirty.

Toothbrush and Toothpaste

No matter how long your flight is, it’s always a great idea to pack your own toothbrush and toothpaste with you. Not only does it keep your breathe fresh, you’ll also feel completely awake once you’ve brushed your teeth. Most economy class amenity kits include a toothbrush kit but it’s not very good for your teeth so bring your own for comfort. It’ll also save you some money if your hotel doesn’t have one — especially in under developed cities.

Water Bottle

You’re always going to want to stay hydrated on flight and a water bottle is a great way to help you. Singapore’s Changi International Airport have water coolers in their terminals for you to refill your bottle just before boarding.
