If you’re looking for a healthier lunch option but think that a salad can’t satisfy, why not try a sandwich instead? It’s a no-frills lunch option that you can eat at your desk if you have to!
Grab your sandwich from one of these places in the CBD in Singapore:
Located in Telok Ayer, Park Bench Deli was started out by three ex-chefs who simply wanted a great meal after long and arduous 12-hour shifts in the kitchen.
Together, the chefs make delicious (and huge if we may add) sandwiches filled generously with ingredients such as pancetta, sous-vide fried buttermilk chicken and braised pork belly.
On top of sandwiches, there’s also healthy snacks like acai bowls, yoghurt granola and salads.
Park Bench Deli is at: 129 Telok Ayer Street, Tel: 6815 4600, www.parkbenchdeli.com
As its name would suggest, Club Meatballs specialises in different sorts of meatball combinations. From pork and fennel to chicken and cumin, you can choose to savour them as a salad or a sandwich.
To cater to the morning crowd in the CBD, the restaurant also has breakfast from 8 to 10.30 am in the morning.
Club Meatballs is at: #01-35 China Square Central, 20 Cross Street, Tel: 6222 8660, www.clubmeatballs.com
A no-frills cafe located in Far East Square, Smoke Shack smokes their meats in-house and prepares some very tasty sandwiches.
Service is relatively quick and while there are seats sprawled right outside the deli, you can choose takeaway too.
Smoke Shack is at: 2 Amoy Street, #01-01, Tel: 6557 2214, www.facebook.com/smokeshack.sg
The great thing about The Sandwich Shop is that it’s located at various places in the CBD such as Collyer Quay, Robinson Centre and One Raffles Link.
You can choose to grab ready-made sandwiches, wraps and salads from the chiller or watch as they make your sandwich on the spot in their open concept kitchen.
The Sandwich Shop is at: 16 Collyer Quay, #02-07, Tel: 6536 5141, www.thesandwichshop.com.sg
Another no-frills cafe, Sarnies has some of the heartiest sandwiches around.
While there, be sure to try their Basil Pesto, Smoked Salmon or Kurobuta pork sandwiches.
Sarnies also has some really good coffee so be sure to get a cuppa when you’re there.
Sarnies is at: 136 Telok Ayer Street, Tel: 6224 6091, www.sarniescafe.com
