Achieving a flatter tummy doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact, it’s only one drink away! The secret? Apple cider vinegar, which has a ton of purported health benefits because of its acetic acid content. Acetic acid has a high antioxidant count that can help to boost your body’s functions. If you want to start drinking apple cider vinegar (ACV) for your health, always remember to dilute it first as our stomachs can’t handle too much acid in one go. The safest and most effective way to consume ACV is to add 1 to 2 tablespoons of vinegar to one glass of water and drink it on an empty stomach immediately before eating. Vinegar increases the acidity in the stomach, which allows it to digest the food you’ve eaten and increases your rate of digestion. A slow digestive system actually causes acid reflux, which triggers the feeling of fullness and bloating. So, consuming vinegar stops you from swelling up.

When your stomach isn’t producing enough acid, this impairs the absorption of nutrients as well as B6, folate, calcium, and iron. To help your body ingest a bit more, try taking acid in the form of vinegar, and you’ll actually be able to use all the good stuff you consumed.
