Easy Everyday Hairstyles To Steal From Celeb Mums Like Fann Wong And Zoe Tay

February 2, 2018

A lot of us don’t know what to do with our hair on most days. We leave it long and loose or tie it up hurriedly in ponytails to get it out of the way. If you need some hair inspo, look no further than these celebrity mums. Like most mums who don’t have time to fuss with their mane, they go for easy-to-execute hairstyles that still look put together.

Here are 8 easy hairstyling ideas, plus a quick tip or two on how to pull them off:

Easy Everyday Hairstyles To Steal From Celeb Mums Like Fann Wong And Zoe Tay
Simple ponytail and side-swept bangs

Actress Joanne Peh keeps her look casual yet elegant in a simple low ponytail with her long bangs swept to the side.

To create it: Apply a smoothing serum to keep flyaways at bay, then gather hair lengths into a low ponytail and secure with a hair tie. Go for a deep side part with your bangs and tuck them behind one ear. Use a bobby pin to secure the ends of your long bangs behind your ear to keep it looking neat.

Mrs Jay Chou, Hannah Quinlivan, pulls off the casual-cool look with a baseball cap and colourful sunnies. A look any busy mum can easily pull off.

To create it: This look works with any medium to long hairstyle and gets plus points for its youthful vibe. Not to mention, it’s super fuss-free and hides any bad-hair days too. Just pop on any baseball cap and don some shades and you’re good to go.

Short and wavy

Rocking the wavy Korean-style perm on her short blunt hair is South Korean actress Lee Min Jung who starred in Boys Over Flowers and has a 3-year old son.

To create it: A short blunt cut can be very chic when it looks tousled and relaxed. A soft Korean-perm gives the ends volume and a bit of curl.

Chic short layers

Actress Zoe Tay recently hit 50 and still looks swanky and fresh with a sassy short hairstyle with face-framing, choppy layers.

To create it: Short do’s like Zoe’s require constant trims to maintain the shape. But daily maintenance is a breeze: just spritz some texturising spray or scrunch some mousse into hair and tousle with your hands.

Half-up top knot
image

The former host-DJ-model and mum-of-two keeps the hair out of her face in a nonchalant half-up top knot. This look is both effortless and cool.

To create it: This hairstyle works best on long hair that is at least past the shoulders. Gather the top half of your hair up and make a loose loop before securing the hair tie. The style should be a bit messy but not overly so, or it risks looking dishevelled.

Nifty top knot

Ever-chic actress and mummy to three-year-old Zed, Fann Wong looks stylish yet playful in a top knot paired with her straight-across-the-eyebrows bangs.

To create it: Tie hair in a tight ponytail on the crown of your head. Neaten strands with hairspray and a fine-tooth comb, then wind the ponytail around its base and secure with bobby pins. Spray some hairspray on the comb and comb through to neaten the fringe.

Pop on a scarf

Taiwanese actress-model Sui Tang keeps her hairstyle informal yet chic by adding a headband scarf in a polka-dot print.

To create it: Anyone can pop on a headband or scarf to jazz up their hair, and it works on hair of any length and style. Pair it with wispy bangs like Sui Tang and keep the rest of your hair long and loose, or tie it in a low ponytail or chignon.

A sleek, all-up ponytail
image

Hong-Kong based actress, model and singer Angelababy just gave birth in 2017. She looks neat and polished in an all-up ponytail that shows off her great skin and defined facial features.

To create it: Comb up your hair neatly in a high ponytail and smooth with a comb and some hairspray or gel to make it look sharp and sleek. If the all-up look is too stark for you, you can also comb your fringe to one side and slick it down.
