Want to get healthier and burn some calories at the same time? Join one of these 7 top boxing classes in Singapore for a full body workout that will get you fit in no time

Boxing, just like spinning, has officially made it as a trending workout activity and Singaporeans are spoiled for choice when it comes to the boxing classes they get to sign up for.

A great overall workout, each class allows you to burn at least 200 calories (from what we’ve tried!) and it’s definitely an effective way for you to get fitter and lose weight at the same time. Most of the classes we’ve listed also incorporate some form of high-intensity interval training, giving you the opportunity to burn as many calories as possible in one session.

The highly-raved about CruBox Los Angeles — opened by Singaporean siblings Valerie Ding, Beatrice (Bebe) Ding, Calvin Ding — has arrived. The trendy boxing studio has earned itself many celebrity fans, including the Kardashians, Nicole Sherzinger and Hailey Bieber.

Similar to its sister studio, indoor cycling studio CruCycle, you’d be able to box to the beat in a club-like atmosphere. The studio currently has three class formats ranging from 35 minutes to 50 minutes. Each class involves some form of high-intensity interval training, guaranteed to build endurance and sculpt muscles.

Themed sessions, like Hip Hop Wednesdays and ’90s Remixes, are also available. Plus, you don’t have to get your own boxing gloves — there will be complimentary rental of gloves and towels.

Still offers boxing, yoga and HIIT-yoga combination classes.

There are five types of boxing classes offered by Still. They each focus on different aspects to give you a total body workout: Core, Strength and Conditioning, Endurance, Circuit and Basic.

Each class is 50 minutes long and has some form of HIIT to them too.

boOm

Founded by Singapore Olympic swimmer, Bryan Tay and his wife, Victoria, boOm is another boxing studio that offers three types of boxing classes.

The signature workout, BoomBox, has 10 rounds of cardio and resistance training, while their 10-person limit class, BoomCIRCUIT, is aimed at helping you build endurance and has high-intensity intervals too. Their newest addition is BoomCAMP, a 45-minute circuit training class to help you shred calories and boost muscle endurance with interval-based movements.

Helmed and named after former national boxing coach Syed Abdul Kadir, the boxing programme draws from his wide-ranging experience both inside and outside the ring.

Kadir started boxing at the age of nine, and has been at the forefront of Singapore’s boxing scene for the past 30 years after representing the nation in the Commonwealth games and Asian Games.

Recognised by the Singapore Sports Council as the “Sportsman of the Year” in 1974, “Coach of the Year” in 1985, and one of “Singapore’s 50 Greatest Athletes of the Century” in 1999, Kadir continues his mission today to find and groom local talent to represent Singapore on the international stage.
