This 10-step Korean skincare regime is popular among celebs, singers and models. Find out how to achieve flawless skin with our guide.

by Atika Lim  /   March 29, 2016

From snail-mucus sheet masks to baby face make up and even fermented skincare products, Koreans love their skincare routine and abide to it very strictly. So, it’s no wonder they have almost perfect skin!

The 10 step Korean beauty regime made waves late last year after models and actresses were revealed to double-cleanse their skin and use only water-less cleansers for their skin.

Read all about the 10 step beauty regime and how you can do it here in Singapore below:

How To Look Like A Korean Star in 10 Beauty Steps
1. Oil Cleansers

Start with an oil cleanser to remove oil-based makeup, dirt and sebum.

2. Waterless Cleansing Balms or Foam Cleansers

Double cleansing helps to thoroughly clean your without stripping moisture away. Koreans love their water-less products that leave their skin feeling smooth and supple.

3. Toner

Often a step people miss out on, toner helps to balance your skin’s pH value and allow for products applied afterwards to be absorbed better.

4. Essence

Essences are usually lightweight and less concentrated than a serum and is used for an extra level of hydration before you put on other products.

5. Serum

Thicker in consistency as compared to an essence, serums have active ingredients that target specific problems on your skin (e.g. dark spots or brightening).

6. Sheet Masks

Sheet masks often contained active ingredients just like serums and essence and can be used to replace one or the other. However, using sheet masks daily can get really pricey!

So treat your skin and use it once or twice a week!

7. Eye Cream

Whether it’s for firming purposes or just for hydration, eye cream is pivotal in your skincare regime as the skin around your eyes are a lot thinner and require more protection.

8. Overnight Mask

For the ultimate hydration, use an overnight mask (or a sleeping pack as they are called).

Some overnight masks might be too rich for your skin so if you start to break out after using them, be sure to keep usage to a minimum and use only when you feel like indulging yourself. These masks are definitely perfect for when you’re on long haul flights though!

9. Sunscreen (When heading out)

SPF50, minimum. No further explanation required.

10. Exfoliator (after cleansing)

It’s not recommended to exfoliate skin every day so do it once or twice a week to slough away dead skin cells so your skin absorbs other products better.
