While matte lipsticks can look incredibly chic and last longer on the lips, there’s no doubt that our lips need a break from them every once in awhile. If lip balms (tinted or not) are way too sheer for your liking, then here are a few super pigmented moisturising lipsticks that are guaranteed to make your day (and week and month and year).
We are completely heart-eyes over the star lip launch from Dior this year. If you’re looking for a vivid high-shine lipstick that’s so nourishing it practically melts across your lips, then this is it. The formula comes packed with five ultra-light oils to nourish your lips without feeling greasy or uncomfortable. These lipsticks are highly pigmented and so buttery soft that you actually have to be a little careful when applying it in order to keep within your lip line, especially with the dark shades (the vampy purple shade called Sauvage is my personal favourite). There are 18 shades to choose from including classic everyday shades, pastels, neons and wilder dark ones, so there’s something for every taste.
While these lipsticks are rather pricey at $48 a pop, they’re gorgeous in every way and worth the price in my opinion. The formula is incredibly hydrating with its blend of shea butter, jojoba, mimosa and sunflower seed. Application-wise, this glides on smoothly, doesn’t feather and provides lots of pigment in one swipe. The best part about it is that it doesn’t accentuate dry patches on your lips either.
There are 20 different shades, all gorgeously wrapped up in a sleek Hourglass stylo, each with empowering titles like Inventor, Achiever, Warrior and Explorer. Not only do they make you look good, they’re also going to get you feeling pretty confident as well!
You can choose to tone down the colour by blotting your lips if you want a less pigmented finish, or swipe it on to build up the colour. Even at full opacity, this lipstick feels like you’ve got nothing on your lips and I predict it will make for an amazing daily lip colour for many women.
In case you missed it, Crayola and Clinique have collaborated for the first time on a limited edition range of Chubby Stick lip balms. Considering we have mad love for the Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms, (they’re easy to apply and nourishing on the lips), the collaboration is everything we could have imagined. Pigmented, hydrating, and fun.
It takes you down memory lane, bringing back the nostalgia of childhood imagination, but the product (a lipstick balm) is very much rooted in adulthood. In other words, it’s the best of both worlds. The collection boasts of limited edition Chubby Stick Moisturising Lip Colour Balms, and six shades are available in Singapore.
The range was in fact colour-matched and named after some of Crayola’s most iconic shade names, like Marvelous, Tickle Me Pink, and Wild Strawberry. We hope they haven’t sold out yet because you need to get your hands on them.
The K-beauty giant has just reformulated its Silk Intense Lipstick. It now has something called Multi-Layered White Technology which is meant to give the lip colour a brighter, more long-lasting and 3D effect. It’s also incredibly hydrating on the lips and vividly pigmented, and you’ll be pleased to know that Laneige Singapore is the only retailer that carries all 35 of the new shades.
Something rather unique about the lip range is that it includes two shade adjusting lipsticks. There’s a yellow shade that is meant to change the tone of your lip colour to something more bright and warm-toned, and a purple-ish grey lipstick to tone-down your lip colour making it deeper and more neutral.
Affordable K-Beauty brand Mamonde has finally launched in Singapore on Lazada.sg, and one of its bestsellers is this Highlight Lip Tint. Don’t let the word tint fool you, because the colour payoff on this is impressive. You can definitely blend it out for a sheer wash of pigment, or build it up for a brighter pop of colour and it also leaves behind a slight tint even if you wipe it off which is wonderful for anyone who wants their lip colour to last all day without any discomfort.
It feels hydrating and mousse-like on the lips but looks semi-matte, which is the perfect combination if you have dry lips but don’t like glossy shiny lips. Shade number 6 Pin Spot in particular is a hot favourite thanks to a ringing endorsement from brand ambassador and Korean star Park Shin Hye (she’s also worn the shade while on the hit Korean show Doctors). Available in 10 beautiful shades, including a deep purple.

Containing nourishing oils and a touch of pigment, the Lancome Juicy Shaker gives lips a hint of colour while hydrating.
