Rebecca may have cut her teeth as a performer during her Miss Singapore days, but after more than a decade in the limelight, she has firmly cemented her status as an A-lister.
With a slew of acting awards under her belt – Best Actress and Supporting Actress at the Star Awards, Best Actress at the Asian Television Awards and Asian Star Prize at Seoul International Drama Awards – the Mediacorp artiste is grateful for her career despite the toll it takes on her hair.
“I tend to use a hot iron on my hair when I’m filming, which resulted in a lot of damage to my hair. I go for manicures quite often for photoshoots as well, so my nails would become weak and prone to breakage over time,” she says.
Luckily, Rebecca has a strong base that helps her mitigate the damage done so she can look and feel energised and radiant every day.
“Six years ago I was introduced to Swisse Hair Skin Nails, a leading Australian brand,” says Rebecca, who is thrilled that these supplements are now available in Singapore. “I want to feel beautiful from the inside out and these supplements help me do that. Who doesn’t want better hair, skin and nails, right?”
Nothing makes a woman feel more beautiful than a full head of lustrous, strong, shiny locks. Just ask Christable Chua, a beguiling beauty who has tweens, Gen-Xers and millennials waiting with bated breath for her next hair tutorial to finish uploading.
“Like a lot of women out there, I include heat styling as part of my daily routine and I also invest a significant amount of time trying to create salon styles at home. If I’m not careful, I’ll get split ends and heat damage,” she says.
For Christabel to maintain her status as a perfectly coiffed queen and keep producing meaningful content that will have her followers coming back for more, she knows she needs a strong base for her trendy hairstyles.
“I share a lot about my hair. So, it’s very important for me to ensure that it’s kept in the healthiest condition. Since I’m always on the go, be it travelling or running between photoshoots, Swisse Hair Skin Nails ensures that I have what I need to maintain my healthy hair,” she quips.
A self-confessed workaholic, Viola has spent the last few years building her fashion empire with Love, Bonito. All that hair work has culminated in them nabbing the coveted Pulsar Award and The Women Entrepreneur Awards where they were also crowned the overall winners.
“As an entrepreneur, I’m always meeting with potential clients in an effort to grow the business. So, how I look definitely plays a part in helping me to boost my confidence,” she says.
Viola wholeheartedly believes that the secret to a flawless face lies in a strong base; not foundation, lipstick or blush.
“My makeup routine on a normal day consists of just loose powder and eyeliner. Since I run around quite a bit for work, having great skin is crucial so that even if I have to leave the house bare-faced I know I still look good,” she says.
“I sometimes suffer from tired skin, but ever since I started on Swisse Hair Skin Nails I feel that my complexion has changed for the better and I can’t wait to continue on my journey towards becoming more radiant.”
We all look for little tips and tricks to enhance our daily lives. Whether that be a caffeine-fix in the morning or a lunchtime workout, there’s always something that you can count on to bring a smile to your face.
For Jessica, taking care of herself gives her the confidence to face the world head-on.
“I learnt the art of self-care when I was in my previous job as a flight attendant. I had to look polished and well-groomed for work, which included having my nails done frequently. When I knew I looked good, I felt good about myself,” says Jessica.
That’s why she needs a strong base, because Jessica knows that the first step towards building your confidence starts with how you feel about yourself on the inside.
“Confidence is feeling comfortable in my own skin, and the key to this was to identify my flaws and work towards improving them. I was always self-conscious of my brittle nails and Swisse Hair Skin Nails has helped them to remain healthy and strong,” she muses.
