When we think of self-care, a day in the spa or a weekend staycation may pop up in our minds. However, self-care can take on different forms for everybody. Ultimately, it’s the practice of actively injecting small rituals into your daily life to manage stressors and take care of your health (both mentally and physically) and well-being. In fact, the World Health Organization defines self-care as: “the ability of individuals, families, and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and to cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare provider.”
For some, it could be keeping their houses clean and tidy. To others it could be a weekly exercise session to get those endorphins up and running. And then there are those who spend 15 minutes every night to indulge in a soothing skincare routine. To some, that might feel indulgent, but it can feel really good to pamper yourself. On top of that, it’s beneficial for your skin as well!
If you already have a committed routine of your own, here are some more ideas you can incorporate into your current self-care routine.
