Mediacorp Artiste Rebecca Lim certainly knows a thing or two about juggling multiple commitments and navigating a busy schedule. The actress is currently hard at work filming “The Third Rail” – an English drama that’s slated for an October 2022 release – while getting ready for her highly anticipated upcoming nuptials.
To achieve her ideal wedding look, she’s enlisted makeup artist Shaun Lee and hairstylist Dexter Ng. “They’ve both grown up with me and know how I’ve evolved over time, and know what looks good and what doesn’t,” she says. “That being said, I definitely want something classic that I’ll be able to look back on 20 years later and not cringe at with regret!”
To keep her skin and hair in tip-top shape, Rebecca’s been drinking at least 1.5 litres of water a day, religiously applying sunscreen and self-administering facial massages every other morning. “I should be working out more, but I’ve been super busy,” she adds. “I’m not too stressed about it, though, because I’ve always believed that taking care of yourself from the inside out helps you look good.”
Rebecca is also a big fan of incorporating supplements into her wellness routine. “Vitamin C is a must-have! It gives me the energy to keep going,” the actress shares. She also takes fish oil and assorted supplements from Swisse – including a bottle of their Golden Collagen liquid every other day, Collagen Sleep powder before bedtime, Hair Skin Nails tablets and Vision Care capsules.

One of Rebecca’s secrets to attaining her bright and radiant skin – and that she’s been taking regularly for the past four months – is Swisse Beauty Bright Skin. The supplement contains targeted nutrients such as nicotinamide to maintain optimal skin health; Vitamin C to support collagen formation, skin elasticity and firmness; and multiple antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients including pomegranate, astaxanthin and rose hip.“
I’ve been filming tirelessly for the last three plus months, with hardly any downtime to rest well, let alone go for a facial,” she reveals. “Our filming conditions aren’t glamorous – it’s really stuffy and we perspire a lot on set, plus I have to constantly touch up my makeup throughout 18-hour shoot days.”
Despite these conditions, Rebecca says that her skin hasn’t been negatively affected. “I may look slightly tired due to the lack of sleep, but my skin’s been great, and it’s really the supplement that’s been giving me the nutrients for my well-being,” she shares. “I leave all my supplements at the waiting area on set, too, so I can share the good stuff! Anyone can just help themselves.”
Rebecca also hopes to try Swisse Beauty Hair Vitality to care for her tresses before her wedding. Designed to facilitate healthy hair growth to promote strong, lush and silky locks, the premium formula has a power-packed combination of nourishing ingredients such as biotin, horsetail extract, zinc, Vitamin C and selenium.
As Rebecca knows, it can be easy to forget to take supplements, especially if you have a jam-packed schedule. To prevent this, she leaves them next to her skincare products. “The colourful Swisse bottles are hard to miss, so I’m always reminded to have my supplements when I apply my skincare before bed,” the actress says, adding that she further packs them into her work bag so she can consume them while on busy shoots. “The Golden Collagen and Hair Skin Nails bottles are small and light, which makes them easy to carry around.”
The actress also stresses the importance of fostering long-term habits to experience optimal results. “Take your supplements daily – don’t expect them to be miracle pills, as consistency is key, and it’s the baby steps that all add up,” she says. “Cleanse thoroughly, and moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!”
Ultimately, Rebecca believes it’s crucial to love the skin you’re in. “Accept that you can’t look picture perfect all the time, as some days are better than others. It’s important to think happy thoughts – when I look back at some of my favourite photos, it’s always because I am truly happy and I shine differently,” she says.
“I also believe in ageing gracefully and embracing it,” Rebecca adds. “That’s something I’m constantly working on as well, so I hope you know that I’m only human and also a work in progress.”
